Historical architecture and design enthusiasts, the post-Katrina purchasers of this historic Pass Christian home wanted to restore both the main house and the guest house as thoroughly, yet reasonably, as possible. From re-surfacing the walls and woodwork to polishing all door and window hardware to their shiny brass origins, to ensuring each hardware screw was slotted (historically accurate), to restoring interior and exterior transoms to their working order, this main house and guest house have been through the works. The painted copper gutters have been stripped. Restored antique fans have replaced modern fixtures throughout the house. Bathroom renovations have replaced modern tile with marble. This three bedroom, three and a half bath main house and one bedroom, one bath guest house have finally allowed this coast loving family to return to their beloved city since the loss of their house in Katrina. With a barn on the property, we added shelving, peg board, work benches, and fan supports for this avid historical fan restorer to work his magic.
With a freshly restored main and guest house, the addition of a new pool called for the conversion of a garage into a two bedroom, one bathroom pool house. With porcelain plank wood grain tile floors, tongue and groove v-joint walls, and Azek (a PVC material) column wrap and exposed rafter tails, this pool house is built to sustain not only the humid, wet weather of the coastal areas on the outside, but the wet, sandy feet of occupants on the inside! The pool is of gunite construction with peacock paver coping and borders, and SunDek topping on the concrete pool deck. With a 7’ semi-circular kiddie shelf on one end and seating ledges on both sides, the pool pleases family members of all ages.
Recently added – an outdoor kitchen complete with a gas BBQ, two burner cooktop, and outdoor sink and storage and an outdoor shower. From kitchen cabinets to shower enclosure, materials were used to preserve construction with Atlantis outdoor cabinetry and a custom Azek shower enclosure.
